A Japanese scroll, painted in the Chinese style, of two cats. The painting by an unknown artist Tosa Yukimi (土佐行至), accompanied with a poem by the Confucian poet Terakado Seiken (1796-1868). The poem about stray cats huddling in fallow field while the author watches. With wear to mount and damage from age and use.
Edo period (1600-1868), dated 1864
